Has He not commanded you? Be strong and courageous! Do not be frightened or dismayed, for YHWH your God is with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9

In today’s society we have downplayed the spirit of fear by giving it various names such as anxiety, stress, and worry. I’m just stressed at work. I have social anxiety. I just worry about the finances. Let’s remember that superstition is also a manifestation of fear. Fear of what might happen if I don’t do the exact perfect thing to prevent (ward off) the unwanted event.

Today there are over 4000 listed irrational fears. Fear of peanut butter, spiders, the outdoors, the number 13, etc. These are all manifestations of someone who is not in their “right” mind. Yet, the enemy knows how powerful fear is when it comes to controlling us. Governments and psychologists have known for centuries how much easier it is to control the masses through fear rather than through force. Fear is a powerful motivator. Remember “don’t go outside without a mask or you will kill grandma…”? Who wants to die? Who wants to be responsible for another person’s death? Who wants to be singled out and “punished” for doing what is normal and right?

Fear is a lie. It tells us that we cannot depend upon God to love us, forgive us, provide for us, care for us, be what we need when needed. It tells us that we cannot trust God and His word. It tells us that God is a liar. (Heb 6:17-18). Fear tells us that man is greater than God. (1 John 4:4). Fear says that you must be in control and act as God in your life to make or prevent something happening in your life. (Rom 8:28). Fear says that you are alone (Isaiah 41:10). Fear says that you will die if… (Matt 6:27). Fear says that you are responsible for the good or ill of others. That you are depriving your children of more when you homeschool them or set limits on what they can or cannot do. That you will be rejected if you are your real self. That…. Fear has no end of lies to tell us. We even have people dealing with the fear of missing out! Yet they are just lies. They are not truth. Therefore, they should have no power in our lives. And we call it stress, worry, or anxiety instead of what it truly is. Fear. A lying spirit that comes against our Faith.

What does fear do to the body? It puts the body into fight or flight mode. If the fear (stress) continues without the brain being able to put the body back into rest and recovery, the whole body suffers. The heart gets the brunt of it and you will have high blood pressure, high cholesterol, palpitations, coronary artery disease, arrhythmias, heart failure, heart valve disease, and more. You will also have allergies, acne, other skin issues, and gut issues, auto immune diseases, and you will switch on DNA markers that signal disease within the body. Mothers who are fearful during pregnancy will also pass on dis-ease to the baby. I know that this is controversial, but the science backs it up. For the past 2 decades it has been observed, researched, and known that children with autism had mothers who were very fearful during their pregnancies. Their fear switched on that DNA marker within their children. Then something external strengthened that DNA marker producing the autism within the child. (not all mothers who were fearful produced children with autism, but all children with autism came from mothers who were fearful.) Fear within the parents will also produce allergies, asthma, or even childhood onset diabetes within a young child. Fear is also a HUGE generational stronghold within families. Why are some children “shy”? Why are some children unexplainably fearful at an early age? That lie has been given authority over the child through the parent. That’s just a summary of what the lie of fear, when believed, will do.

God knew that fear would be a big lie that all of us would have to deal with at some time or another. He knew that the enemy would work hard to kill, steal, and destroy our Faith. If nothing else, fear will make us fear the lying spirits of which Yeshua told us we have the power to expel! We have NOTHING to fear if we are walking with Yeshua, covered in his blood, and obeying God. (Rom 8:28). Our Father wants us to know this deep within our very cells. Over 300 times He had told us not to fear, not to be afraid, not to be dismayed. 300 truths to stand against the lies. (Isaiah 45:19)

Remember what we discussed earlier about writing His word upon our hearts? (Ps 119:11; Jerem 31:31)

This week I hope you will choose to go through all 300+ times it is written “do not fear” or some variation of that command. It IS a command. We are commanded to stand in Faith, which is truth, not in fear which is a lie. (John 8:31-32)

What fears have found a home within your mind and body? When did the lie first appear in your life? Why did you choose to believe it? How has it manifested in your life? Using the exercise for capturing your thoughts, name and start replacing one lie of Fear in your life with the truth of Faith. Repent for believing the lie over the truth. Write out the scriptures that command, encourage, call for Faith. Determine how you will walk in Faith the next time you hear the lies of Fear whispering to you. Start with Matt 9:29; John 14:15; Mark 11:22. You CAN expel Fear from your life, and you CAN reverse the damage done to your brain and body from believing that liar. And remember to come against every lie of the enemy with “It is written….” Remember it is a 63 day process for each thought you desire to replace. Not just a one day exercise and then total freedom. But it won’t happen unless you choose to start today.

Until next time….

The apostles said to the Master Yeshua, “Increase our faith!” Luke 17:5
